Pellet is the fuel of biomass, used for heating of houses and other rooms. Due to its thermal properties and use convenience it is counted to the most effective energy sources. It is also ecologic and environmental friendly fuel. The CO2 - emission while burning, is the same as the CO2 quantity absorbed by the tree when growing up. A very little quantity of ash, left after burning (about 1%), can be used as natural fertilizer.

The properties of pellets intersperse on the dynamic need - improvement for this renewable source of clean energy. In the year 2002, the pellet production in Europe amounted to 1,3 million tons, than in the year 2006 it amounted already over 5 million tons.
Please, take into account that :
- 2,0 kg pellets replace 1 litre heating oil
- 2 m3 timber is the same as 5 m3 chips, and it gives 1 tone pellets
- of 1 tone burned pellets leaves about 4 kg ash - the change of heating fuel to pellets means reduction of CO2 - emission out of 2,5 kg for each spared litre of heating oil
- to heat a house for one family, you need ca. 5-8 tones pellets per year for one heating season
